I did this cd cover for a friend of mine. the cd includes mainly wave-bands like siouxie and the banshees, bauhaus, wire and so on....
I'm fascinated everytime how a simple image out of a magazine can end up like this.

I wanted to have a checked dress and wasn't able to find one I liked, so yesterday I sewed one out of a very very big men's shirt. It was a big trial and error and in the end it isn't perfect due to my impatience, but i like it anyway and think it turned out nicely, especially as I didn't have a pattern.

i really love this one 'cause it turned out the way I wanted it to....it's made of a lot of layers of different colours like crayons, watercolour, acrylic paint, biro, coloured pencils, pieces of fibre I used for the pullover I showed before, a photoshop-edited and afterwards painted picture, felt tip, gesso (my new obsession) and old magazines. unfortunately, I wasn't able to scan it proper.
I did a lot of personal pieces the last weeks, getting away from the thought that things should always look beautufilly, resulting in a lot of pieces really capturing what's going on inside me but which I dind't want to share.
and by the way, this is the first book I did by myself with the help of this tutorial.

I took some inspiration from the internet and startet to record the day...or rather, I did the first one yesterday and plan to keep on...
I think it's a great way to create a little memory of the day, even when the day brought nothing special. But today it will, because I'm going to have dinner with my mary! (you see, I cheated a little bit today and did the record before the day even ended....).It's a little thing you can do by the way to blow off some of your creative energy without searching too long through magazines for the exactly right picture like I do for my other collages.
I used another little book by the "insel-bibliothek", like I did for most collages I showed around here.
This is the record I did for today, as it provides nothing catchy I share this one but not the one I did yesterday- yesterday I added a picture from my boyfriend and I'm not sure if he wants to find himself this way in the internet....

This morning something really strange but beautifull happened.
Through one of the wholes of my shutter the crossroad the house I'm living in is lying at was projected at my room ceiling. I could watch the cars drive by and people crossing the streets while lying in my bed- and all in colour! best to see were the red and yellow cars, but actally, most people seem to drive boring cars in white or shades of grey.
I think it must have been working like a pinhole camera.
I tried to catch it with my camera but it didn't really work. You only can vaguely discern the schemes. The only thing which can be clearly recognised is the white medial strip.
I decided to post it anyway, because I was so fascinated.
Have you ever experienced something like that?
Let me know!

waiting for time to go by...

and on the other hand the feeling to have no time at all- it's been quite some days I did the last post.
and yes, i looked at Wolf Erlbruch's books over and over again...if anyone knows the books (do you?) it's obvious where my inspiration came from.
Oh and I got some help from my rats, I did this little piece while sitting in their playing area. They helped by carrying and hiding everything away, they especially like pencils and rubbers.

I'm not very creative these days....working for university, you now :-) and knitting and a little bit sewing instead of scribbling or doing collages....

This semester I'm doing a development course at university and today we made photograms as seen above.
For the first one I used a little mirror and three buttons. The second one contains four buttons (who can find the fourth one?), needles and bobbins. You can see chains in the buttons- this originally was a mistake- I accidently used this sheet of photobase paper twice, first for the bobbins etc. and second I arranged chains and broken glass. And that's how it turned out!
For the last two ones I exposed the buttons and bobbins again- I got a little bit obsessed with them....
I wish I had a darkroom at home, this was so exciting and a lot of fun.
But now I have to disentangle the threads of the bobbins which got all tangled up...

I'm a bit lazy doing collages at the moment....this are two old ones, exactly it's front and back of a notebook I pasted.
The girls were part of a fashion series in a free magazine. I really loved the pictures so I gathered an amount of this issue and used the pictures in a lot of collages- but now they are all done...ah, what a pity.
Because i photographed it the light is blinding, but I actually think it is in line with the motif.

After finishing the first part of examination I thought I would have so much time for posting, but then...spring....meeting all my friends....just doing nothing without having a bad conscience....
but I noticed I never posted the scribble sheets I did for the scribble club and thought I'd make up for this now.

I changed the header because I found this stamp in a box with old stuff.
We used to write questions on little cards, put this stamp on the backside and leave them everywhere we were going.
Originally this phrase was part of a postcard.

it seems like spring is here!
What means sitting in the sun, flowers and their sweet smell, blue sky, staying outside in the evenings, first icecream bought at the ice cream parlor, t-shirts, skirts....you know what I mean.

This is a postcard I quickly did for my mom. I just cut some leaves out of old magazines and arranged them to flowers. Even this is such an easy way to do a little picture I always like the way it turns out.

Since I started writing about women yet, I thought I could talk a little bit about the grrrls rocking my internet world. I can't remember how, but abot two years ago I discoverd Gala Darlings Blog Icing and love it until today. Thanks to this blog I discovered Nubby Twiglet and Marie's Agent Lover and others ( like Star and Gilda) but this three blogs are tho ones I keep checking daily.
Although they cover quite different topics, they have got one big thing in common: they all communicate an image of self-confident, strong, creative women who live for fullfilling their dreams and stick by who they are. Every time I visit their blogs I feel more self-confident and optimistic myself and got a feeling that it's just ok to be who I am.

They are great because
* They listen to and understand your problems and after talking with them about, you know you're not the only one struggling with this issue and feel less alone.
* They help when help is needed and don't, when they know you have to do it alone.
* You can talk with them about men.
* They make you feel loved, even though they know your faults.
* They tell you about your faults but make you feel that ist's ok to keep them.
* You know they like you even when you're grumpy.
* They know when you need a hug and when you don't.

* They bring out the best in you because you love them and want to make them feel loved and you would do nearly everything for them.

I think this is the easiest thing to believe in, even if it's not working perfectly every time i would love it to do. But if it did so, it wouldn't be believing. And I think it's a good feeling to believe in one part of oneself. At least.

Yesterday I sent a sheet to lisa and her scribble project. She inspired me to start this blog. Actually I'm not sure if I'll keep it. I'm a little bit afraid of showing personal things in the internet. But perhaps I'll enjoy to upload some little pieces of drawing I did.
